On a plot of about 1100 m² in Vienna’s 13th district, a residential complex with four storeys above ground and one underground storey to accommodate the parking spaces was to be built in place of a detached house. In addition to the small plot size in combination with the special shape of the building area and the building regulations, the existing terrain and the position of the street trees also posed challenges for the composition of and the access to the building.
The design envisages two different tall structures that are connected to each other at the joint and are accessed offset by a half-storey. There are six residential units in the street wing and three in the rear section. All residential units have a central kitchen, two to three bedrooms (the larger ones of them have two bathrooms) and private open spaces in the form of balconies, terraces or private gardens.
Due to the tight situation on the real estate market, the project was not realized in the end.
